About Malta

Dungeons, Megaliths and Caves – the islands are mythical. Malta is a group of five islands, situated in the Mediterranean 100 km from Sicily and 290 km from North Africa, the largest of which are Malta and Gozo. The others are the uninhabited Comino, Cominetto and Filfla. Each island, a different and unique experience.

Maltese people range from blonde and blue-eyed descendants of the Normans to dark-eyed dusky-skinned Mediterranean people who are island-spiced, affectionate and quick to smile.

The population numbers approximately 385,000 Maltese, whereas the total (including foreigners) totals 394,00.

The people of Malta have their own language, Maltese, but most of them can also speak fluent English and Italian.

Malta's intense history is full of occupations and invasions because of its strategic position in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. The Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Knights of St John, French and British have all left their imprint on Maltese life.

Summer seems to last forever on Malta. Lovely beaches, fresh air, glittering seas and the Mediterranean diet make it an excellent spot for relaxing and recharging your batteries. On average we experience 300 days of sunshine per year.
